Portfolio Prioritisation

Outcome-Driven Portfolio Prioritisation

Maximising Return on Investment

Using PM3’s value modeller, candidate projects are objectively assessed against various (configurable) cost, risk and benefit criteria. The resulting assessment is plotted onto a 3 x 3 bubble chart showing the ‘value rating’ of all projects allowing an easy comparison and selection of the ‘best’ value projects.

In this way you can ensure that your project portfolio is selected based on a ‘level playing field’ rather than by one particular sponsor who shouts loudest. PM3 allows you to reassess a project as it moves through its life cycle. You can then see if a project is still viable as its costs, benefits or risks may have changed.

Reassessing priorities

As the project moves through its lifecycle, PM3 allows you to reassess its value and risk. You can then see if a project is still ‘worth doing’ as its benefits or costs may have changed. PM3 captures the delta of how the project has changed in terms of benefit, risk and cost. Using our process for prioritising projects supported by PM3, you can ensure that your approved project portfolio is selected based on a ‘level playing field’ rather than by one particular sponsor who shouts loudest.
