London, UK, February 18th, 2019 – Bestoutcome, the leading project, portfolio management (PPM) software company, is pleased to announce the roll-out of its PM3 project, portfolio management tool by Cambridge City Council (CCC).
Cambridge City Council (CCC) is on a continuous transformation journey to deliver better services to its residents.
CCC is seeking to improve the way it delivers projects, programmes and portfolios and wanted a software solution as part of its overall programme of change to enhance the overall project management capabilities of the council.
Cambridge City Council ran an open competition which attracted a wide range of interest in supplying CCC with a Portfolio Management Tool.
The procurement process involved testing and scoring the solutions offered against a robust selection criteria matrix.
The tender exercise also took account of the rapid expansion and roll-out of the corporate Portfolio Management solution across CCC and the potential for partner councils to call off from a framework agreement to implement the tool at a later date.
The procurement process concluded in January 2019 and Bestoutcome was selected as the preferred supplier.
David Walton, Director of Bestoutcome says:
“We are delighted to have been chosen by CCC as their Enterprise PPM partner. We are pleased that PM3 was selected as part of the rigorous procurement exercise undertaken by CCC. This tender exercise was lengthy and exhaustive but was necessary to select the enterprise tool for the next five years“.
Paul Boucher, CCC Transformation Programme Manager says:
“We chose PM3 because the system best reflected our overall requirements. We are looking forward to working with Bestoutcome to implement the system which will not only provide our project managers with an effective tool to help them deliver their projects more effectively, but will also offer the Council as a whole, strategic analysis and support for improvement of services. The Council has already made changes to their programme and project governance and introduced a wide range of related training. Implementing PM3 will help underpin the quality of management required and support the wider transformation activity”.
CCC delivers district council level services to a population of over 125,000. This is forecast to increase to 151,800 in 2031 as a result of new developments.
The Council’s turnover is c.£140million each year. The range of services provided is very varied and complex.
Increasing levels of partnership working, an ongoing drive for greater efficiency (for instance through shared services) and more focus on good customer service mean that they are developing new models for service delivery that will drive change and different ways of working.
